GOAT Homes + GOAT Interiors: A Connected Approach to Better Design

At first glance, GOAT Homes and GOAT Interiors might seem like two separate businesses — one focused on residential home plans, the other on commercial interior design.

In reality, they were built from the same foundation.

Both are rooted in a deep understanding of how spaces are designed, built, and experienced over time — with a focus on creating environments that not only look good, but function well in real life.

Where It Started

My background is in commercial interior design and construction, with over a decade of experience across higher education, healthcare, corporate, and municipal projects throughout North Carolina.

That experience shaped how I approach every space — not just from an aesthetic perspective, but from a practical, construction-informed one.

How will this be built?
How will it function long-term?
Will it hold up over time?

Those questions don’t change just because the project type does.

GOAT Interiors: Built for Performance

GOAT Interiors focuses on commercial spaces — offices, facilities, and environments that need to perform.

These are spaces where:

  • durability matters

  • coordination matters

  • efficiency matters

The goal is to create interiors that are not only well-designed, but highly functional and aligned with how the space is actually used day to day.

From finish selections and furniture to construction documents and on-site coordination, the approach is grounded in real-world application — supporting both design intent and buildability.

The Bigger Vision: GOAT Homes

GOAT Homes is where everything starts to come together.

Instead of fixing problems after a home is built, GOAT Homes is about designing them out from the beginning. Every plan is shaped by real experience—how people move through spaces, what they need over time, and where most homes fall short.

These aren’t just house plans. They’re intentionally designed environments.

Homes that are:

  • Guided by real-life use, not just trends

  • Optimized for flow, function, and efficiency

  • Accessible in a way that feels natural, not clinical

  • Timeless in both form and material

The goal isn’t to create something flashy. It’s to create something that works—now and long-term.

Designed for Accessibility, Longevity, and Real Life

A core part of GOAT Homes is designing with the future in mind.

Each plan incorporates principles of universal design and aging in place from the very beginning — not as an afterthought, and not in a way that changes how the home looks or feels.

This includes thoughtful decisions like:

  • wider, more intuitive circulation paths

  • step-free entries and transitions

  • functional bathroom layouts that can evolve over time

  • hardware and fixtures that are easier to use for all ages

These features are subtle, but they significantly improve how a home functions over time.

The result is a home that adapts naturally — without the need for major renovations later.

Curated Finish Packages That Simplify the Process

GOAT Homes also offers curated finish packages designed to make the building process more efficient and cohesive.

These packages:

  • reduce decision fatigue

  • ensure consistency throughout the home

  • provide clear direction for builders and contractors

Each package is developed balancing durability, cost, and overall aesthetic.

It’s not about limiting creativity — it’s about creating a strong, buildable foundation that leads to better outcomes.

What Makes These Plans Different

Most house plans are created in isolation. Architecture, interiors, and functionality are often treated as separate decisions.

GOAT Homes takes a more integrated approach.

Every plan is considered through multiple lenses at once:

  • how the structure is built

  • how the space is used daily

  • how it adapts over time

  • how it actually feels to live in

That means thinking beyond square footage and focusing on:

  • circulation and movement

  • integrated storage

  • kitchens and bathrooms that function beyond aesthetics

  • subtle accessibility features that enhance everyday use

It’s not about adding more. It’s about designing smarter from the start.

One Approach, Two Applications

Together, GOAT Homes and GOAT Interiors reflect a shared philosophy:

Guided. Optimized. Accessible. Timeless.

Whether designing a home or a commercial space, the goal is the same — to create environments that are thoughtful, functional, and built to last.
